LOMC Mission Statement
The purpose of Lutheran
Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) is to be
the Church in outdoor settings, nurturing Christian faith and providing
experiences connecting the Word of God with the World of God
LOMC General Information
LOMC is a ministry of the
Northern Illinois Synod,
Central/Southern Illinois Synod, Metropolitan Chicago Synod and
Central States Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
(ELCA).
Throughout the year LOMC conducts
many types programs for youth, adults, families, congregations as well
as outdoor education events for schools. With its camp and retreat
facilities, trained staff, and 640 acres of hills, prairies, pond and
forests, new and annual visitors find the LOMC site a beautiful place to
learn and grow with others in their faith.
LOMC staff is composed of full time office, maintenance
and supervisory staff, college age young adult leaders, support staff,
pastors, and adult volunteers.
LOMC is located two miles south of Oregon, IL on Illinois Route 2.
