Be a Camp Grandparent

Consider Ministry as a Camp Grandparent

LOMC has begun a camp grandparent ministry to help youngsters, who may be away from home for the very first time, adjust to their new surroundings, new friends, and exciting camp environment. Sometimes all is needed is a listening ear and caring heart to help youngsters adjust to camp!

One main request of grandparents will be to provide story time from 3:00 - 4 PM.  Books are available on-site and you are welcome to bring your favorite books. Small group leaders will also be present so you won't be alone with a group of campers.

For the day, other than story time, you always have the option to join with the campers to swim, play games, do art, hike, etc. Other options are: relaxing in your room; assisting in the dining hall;  helping with gardening, landscaping, etc.

If you have grandchildren who will be attending camp, you could choose to be a grandparent the same week. All Camp Grandparents will sleep in Freedom Tree Village.

Thank you for considering this Ministry of Camp Grand-Parenting!

Call the LOMC office and ask for Linda if this ministry is right for you.
